Moving right along...

So. its amazing to think that Molly Kate just hit the 4 month mark.  Wow.  Time really does fly when you have a million things going on at once!

We are getting ready to start school again.  Gus will be at Geneva this year - we are soooooo excited about that.  I think he is going to love it.  Amity will be at Covenant, again, in the Pre K 4, and Emmalyne will be going 2 times a week to Mother's Day Out at Covenant.

The Eley's just closed on the house next door last friday.  That's right, we are trying to create our own little Eley commune right here on Stuart Ave.  We are very excited to have Granddaddy and Mimi so close.  The kids are going to have the best time, of course, I'm not so sure the eley's won't get tired of us.  Because they will be so close, Mrs. Eley will be helping me with the kids, so that I can go back to work.  I must say, that will be great.  Not to have to worry, or feel bad about sending them to a daycare, and just to have a couple extra people to help handle our crazy brewd!

So, we are chugging along, in our very busy little world, now that school will be starting we should have more outside contact with people.  That will be nice!

The world of the Blog

So I guess it's no secret that since I have become an avid facebooker my world of blogging has slowed considerably.  It's not exactly that I don't think about it, I just never seem to have time to sit down and think with a quick wit about what to right.  There are plenty of stories.  My kids are really pretty funny, I just have limited time on the "net" and usually use it for the Facebook.  I think it is much easier to update there because it is more interactive - besides that, I'm not really sure who even looks at this blog.  I am trying to keep it updated for the family members that aren't too keen on the idea of Facebook - but I am also trying to encourage anyone who is avidly interested in the Eley family to get a Facebook account.  Email me - I can hook you up!

We've had some pretty crazy hair stories in the last month.  We had Moe baptised - threw a huge reception, and actually celebrated Amity's birthday in June.  In the midst of it all, I have managed to go back to work, keep my house in fairly decent order, and do quite a bit of sewing and baking.  Man is it busy around here!  I am hoping that when school starts things will get a little easier.

Here are a few pictures from the highlights of the last 2 months!

Keeping up with the Eley's

It has been a month since my last post, and we are still trying to get over being sick around here.  We had a relapse of the stomach bug last week and it has worked its way through the entire family this time.  Thankfully this germ was much quicker to get rid of, and the puking was in significantly less volume.  I think we are pretty much over it now.  I just hope there aren't any more relapses!

The question of the day is...how bad of a mom are you if you don't tell your 4 year old it's their birthday?  We missed Emma's birthday because she was sick and Molly Kate was coming home from the NICU that day.  We missed Amity's because I plain forgot until about 5:00 pm the day of.  I had been thinking about a party for her 2 weeks earlier, but I just put that on the back burner, and apparently it totally slipped my mind.  She went to Sophie's party yesterday and was very upset that it wasn't her birthday, and that she wasn't having a party herself.  That's when I started feeling guilty.  On top of that, the next door neighbor invited Amity to her party set for next week.  I guess I am going to have to pull something together pretty soon.  I just hate planning a party and not going all out!

Molly Kate is doing well these days.  She is still a little on the yellow side, but they aren't concerned.  We visited the cardiologist today and they said she has a peripheral pulminary stenosis.  Fancy talk for a murmur.  They were also unconcerned.  Apparently very common in newborns and works itself out usually by 6 months.  We go back in 3 months for them to check it out.  She's up to 10 lbs and 20 inches long, so she's growing well and seems to be adjusting to life in the nut house.

Here are some new pictures of the brewd!

Quick Updates

As most of you know we were able to bring Molly Kate home on Tuesday.  I was very surprised that they were so anxious to let her go, but apparently the doctor that took over that morning wasn't as worried about her bilirubin count as Dr. DeSoler.  We made it home by 12:30 and the kids got to meet her that afternoon.  They were all very excited.  Especially Amity.  She's been hearing for a while that little Moe looks so much like her that I think she believes the baby is hers.  Its very cute.  Gus has been very happy about Molly Kate, but isn't quite as hands on.  The cutest thing he does is bring her toys to play with.  This is especially sweet when you think about the fact that he normally guards his toys like a dragon guarding gold.  He kisses her head and seems excited, but is not interested in holding her.  Emma has been the funniest about it.  She has had that horrible stomach bug and had been out of the house since last Friday, so I don't know if her reaction to the baby was muted because of sickness, or just readjusting to being home again.  She did ask to hold the baby though, and when I put the baby in her lap she acted very scared.  The baby cried once and she seemed very concerned.  I really think she is taking stock of the fact that she really is no longer the baby in the family.

Unfortunately we have had quite a bit of sickness around here.  Emma had the stomach bug and gave it to her Mimi, Uncle Nathan, Aaron and Monkie.  Emma relapsed on Tuesday and Granddaddy immediately took her back to Ruston for a few more days.  Aaron came down with symptoms that night and was banished to the guest bedroom.  Emma was able to come home yesterday evening and Aaron is much better.  He still gets a little dizzy, but I really think it might be dehydration.  His week off turned out to be quite a mess.  I have already Lysoled the whole house in hopes of killing any residual buggies.

Molly Kate actually had a increase in her bilirubin count on Wednesday, so we had to go to the lab 2 days in a row for them to check her blood.  Yesterday it had gone down a bit, but I am supposed to be keeping her in the sun as much as possible.  I am just not exactly sure what it means when that number jumps around.  Our doctor doesn't seem overly concerned, just cautious.  We go back on Monday.  I am hoping things will be much better by then.
